Whether you’re a Maritimer who’s missing that east coast sound or you’re just a big fan of Celtic or folk music, you’re going to want to be at the Heritage Playhouse Theatre on March 25. Pierre Schryer & Adam Dobres will be hitting the stage for one night of incredible Canadian Celtic/folk music.

The duo brings tons of energy, experience, and style to the stage. They have a vast array of musical knowledge and musical nominations and awards behind them. They are celebrated artists both on their own and as a musical duo and their diverse backgrounds coming together which results in their unique sound.

Schyer is the fiddle player of the duo and Dobres is the guitarist. Together they create a completely unique vibe that’s vibrant and captivating and they are constantly experimenting and evolving their music. It’s a wonderful time to catch them as their new album ‘Mandorla’ is about to be released. The album features musical influences from Canada, Ireland, Algeria, Brazil, Quebec, and many others.

Before the main show, attendees are in for another treat. The opening act for the evening will be Bad to the Bow (lead by Gabriel Dubreuil). This youth fiddle group from the Sunshine Coast is part of the Coast String Fiddlers Association (CSF). This non-profit organization aims to educate and promote the performance of traditional fiddle music for youth

Tickets for the show can be purchased online and are $20 for adults and $10 for children (16 and under) in advance of the show. Tickets at the door will be $5 more.

If you’re going to be in town for the show and are in need of accommodation in Gibsons, look no further than the Gibsons Garden Hotel. With an indoor heated pool, dry sauna, fitness room, business centre, and a relaxing garden courtyard, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more restful place to stay.
