Know how to tell your hops from your bitters? Always have a growler or two hanging around your kitchen? Then get ready for the Sunshine Coast Craft Beer Festival coming up in February.

The festival, now in its fifth year, is presented by one of Gibson’s premier micro-breweries, the Persephone Brewing Co. The festival will feature craft breweries, distilleries and cideries from around the province, including perennial favourites like Parallel 49 and Steamworks. Proceeds from the event go toward The Sunshine Coast Association for Community Living, an organization the provides service and support to Sunshine Coast residents living with developmental disabilities. Nothing beats enjoying a cold one while supporting a good cause!

The festivities kick off on Friday, February 15^th with the Winter Warmer Gala. New for 2019, this soiree gives attendees the chance to try exclusive special releases of beer, cider and spirits. Snack on some upscale appetizers provided by local vendors and enjoy live music and a silent auction. All-inclusive tickets for the Winter Warmer Gala are available on Universe.

On Saturday, the Craft Beer Tasting Festival will take place in two, three-hour sessions at 1:00 and 5:00 PM at the Gibsons Public Market. Grab a branded glass and sample beer, cider and spirits from eighteen visiting vendors. Fresh, local delights from Emelle’s Market Bistro will also be available on site for purchase. After the second session ends at 8:00 PM, a by-donation shuttle will be available to take you to a few local establishments hosting after parties! It’s sure to be a solid night out.
