Surrounded by water, the Sunshine Coast is a great place for visitors of all ages to paddle a kayak or canoe, embark on a sailing tour. The ocean is at our doorstep, but you can also explore the region’s several popular lakes for swimming, diving and boating. Because Vancouver Island is perfectly placed to protect our Georgia Strait coastline from vigorous pacific weather patterns, conditions are usually mild. It is easy access to launch a kayak, canoe or paddle board anywhere from Gibsons to Pender Harbour and paddle in beautiful relatively safe, calm waters most days of the year.
